Lincolnshire and East Midlands - Nick Hargeaves
Hi, my name is Nick Hargreaves, owner and lead trainer at Hargreaves First Aid Training.
After spending over 14 years working in the sports turf industry I decided to train as a first aid instructor in 2012 along with gaining a level 3 in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)
I realised that having a genuine interest in first aid and a desire to help others I had made a great career change and really love what I do. It’s extremely rewarding to know that I can make a difference to the lives of others and build their confidence to deal with a range of accidents and illnesses not only in the workplace but also at home.
Having a family with 3 young children, I have definitely experienced my fair share of accidents and illness but as a parent the one thing I didn’t have was the opportunity of learning essential first aid to help my family. This became evident when our eldest son, aged just 3 at the time had a febrile convulsion, if only I was aware of this before it happened!
I also volunteer as a Community First Responder and started responding to 999 emergency calls in my local area in 2010.

Why I support Millie’s Trust
When I first heard about Millie’s Trust and the sad loss of Millie I was left thinking how cruel and unfair this world can be at times, especially having children of my own. This just shouldn’t happen. The work that Joanne and Dan have achieved is inspirational and definitely saving lives all over the country and beyond. A true charity following their values.
To meet up with Joanne, Dan, little Leo and some members of the Millie’s Trust training team was a day I will never forget. All wonderful people who share the same drive, determination and passion to make a difference.
I am very proud to be part of the Millie’s Trust training team working alongside a great team of people supporting Millie’s Trust and promoting the charity locally. I look forward to meeting some of you in the future on a Millie’s Trust training course.
