Millie's Daddy - Training & Partnerships Director - Dan Thompson

Hi,

I’m Dan, Millie’s Dad, Co-Founder and Training & Partnerships Director of Millie’s Trust. After volunteering for over a year at Millie’s Trust, I became a full-time employee from April 2014. Having helped set up Millie’s Trust to become what is today, I can honestly say I feel very proud and I’m sure Millie would be too.

I would say I’m very passionate about what I do, especially when it comes to being a First Aid Trainer, something I never thought I’d be able to do is teach! Having taught hundreds and hundreds of courses over the past 10/11 years, I can honestly say that I love what I do.

Apart from teaching first aid courses, helping to run Millie’s Trust, day to day can be fun, especially when it comes to being a giraffe at a fundraising event, something I’ve done many many times, even recently! I love meeting new people and talking about all things Millie’s Trust and First Aid, sometimes even leading to win new clients.

Fundraising for Millie’s Trust can be fun too, although the two London Marathon’s weren’t particularly fun but a huge sense of achievement. I would say the skydive was amazing and I might even do that again one day, nothing quite prepares you for jumping out of a plane at 15,000 feet!

When I’m not teaching, fundraising or being a giraffe, I love spending time with my two boys, Leo and Asher, both of them definitely have their own individual characters. Aswell as my boys, I have my amazing girlfriend, Tammy.

I’m a huge Manchester City fan, having had a season ticket since 1989/90, very lucky to have seen some good times recently. I love socialising, long walks and holidays!
